"Faith is not burying our heads in the sand, or screwing ourselves up to believe what we know is not true, or even whistling in the dark to keep our spirits up. On the contrary, faith is a reasoning trust. There can be no believing without thinking." -- John R. W. Scott, from The Message of Romans
Came across this in my devotional reading tonight. Felt like I needed to share.

Just starting a new job and was doing the 'whistling in the dark to keep my spirits up' bit.
'A reasoning trust' makes me think that one either has faith, or one does not... you can't fake it.
I don't quite know how to get faith, but thanks to your post at least I'll stop pretending I've got it when I don't.
Thanks. :)
PS: If you've got any tips on how to get faith, I'd like to hear them...
